Memorial Mass in honour of Blessed Bishop Vilmos Apor, Martyr
Győr, 23 May 2023. The annual solemn memorial Mass was celebrated on the martyr's feast day in the cathedral of Győr, where he had been bishop and where he had died during the Soviet invasion of the city, defending women who had taken refuge in the Bishop's palace.
Bishop Apor had been Conventual Chaplain ad honorem in the Hungarian Association of the Knigths of Malta. As every year, a delegation of the Association was present at the celebration.
