Multi-faceted Thursday gathering
Budapest, February 9.Last Thursday's Holy Mass was enriched by four events.
First of all, we commemorated the 85th birthday of our confrère Lajos Okolicsány: the Holy Mass was celebrated for his intentions. Our confrère watched the event through live broadcast. At the end of Mass the whole congregation stood in front of the camera to greet him.
After Mass, we drank a toast in honour of our Chaplain Balázs Martos Ch.M., who has recently been appointed auxiliary Bishop. The Association presented Father Balázs with a copy of our new icon of Our Lady of Philermo, so that he can display it at his future workplace.
Afterwards, our president Kristóf Szabadhegÿ reported on the recent Extraordinary Chapter General, sharing information about the new management, and impressions of main future trends.
Finally, Péter Szabadhegÿ talked about the Order's presence in Lebanon, its exponentially developing programs and its huge challenges. He reported on his visit last fall, and the experiences he gathered there. Finally, he urged the Association to organize Hungarian volunteers for the significant, already famous summer camps for the disabled that the Lebanese Association organizes regularly in the Lebanese mountains.
