Commemorating the martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist
Bikolpuszta, 29th August. The Hungarian Association of the Knights of Malta and the Hungarian chapter of the Johanniter Orden joined together to commemorate the martyrdom of Saint John the Baptist, with a joint liturgy, a musical concert and an informal reception. As expressed by Rev. Gregersen-Labossa, the aim of this event of "church-historical importance" was to remember the common roots of the two brother Orders, and to deepen the relationship between their Hungarian branches, and hopefully to establish a new tradition. The joint liturgy was led by Rev. György Gregersen-Labossa, chaplain of the Hungarian Johanniter, and Father Bertalan Tóth, Catholic parish priest of the district town of Süttő. It was attended by about 30 members of both orders and several members of their families.
The event took place in the chapel of the historical Reviczky-Radvánszky country house, owned since 1992 by László and Lukrécia Szebényi and restored thanks to twenty years' hard work by the new owners. The chapel, abandoned for many decades, was re-consecrated in 2019, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist.
