The ashes of János Esterházy return home
The ashes of the saintly politician and martyr János Esterházy were finally laid to rest in his home country - 60 years after his death - with a solemn Holy Mass and commemoration ceremony, a Alsóbodok (near Nyitra) on Sept. 16. A MMLSZ delegation took part in the ceremonies and laid a wreath at the tomb of the martyr.
The solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Cracow, Mons. Marek Jędraszewski, together with Mons. László Bíró and Frantisek Rabek, Hungarian and Slovak Chaplains-general to the armed forces, as well as Zoltán Ďurčo, Hungarian auxiliary bishop of Nyitra, and numerous priests, with the participation of a large number of pilgrims.
The event was attended by János esterházy's daughter Alice, widow of Dino Malfatti, her son Giovanni Malfatti, as well as the Ambassador of the Order of ímalta to Slovakia, Alfred Schönburg.
