2020 Saint John's Day celebration

Budapest, June 24, 2020. The Hungarian Association of the Knights of Malta held its traditional Saint John's Day Holy Mass in the parish church of the Holy Angels in Gazdagrét, a large church where social distancing could be respected and which is equipped with live video broadcast facilities. Mass was celebrated by Bishop. Ferenc Cserháti, Ch.C.H., chief chaplain of MMLSZ, with Father Imre Kozma, Ch.G.C.C.H. and the parish priest, Dr. Károly Szederkényi, concelebrating.

Since in terms of the Constitution, no new members may be admitted to the Order until the election of the new Grand Master, no induction ceremony was held at this time.

More than 30 members of the Order and candidates were present at the celebration, many accompanied by their families. Some parish members were also in attendance. The Hungarian Chapter of the Johanniter Order was represented by Gábor Avar. The ceremony was broadcast live by Apostol.tv and can be watched in theei video archive by clicking here.

Thanks to Father Károly and his helpers, the celebration was followed by a generous reception in the adjacent meeting hall.
